Key responsibilities:

  •  Product Lead - Conduct in-depth analysis of the product and handle the technical queries and technical related concerns pertaining to food products; Responsible for reviewing product categories assigned as per the product specialization for CAPs. Preparations of Technical documentations and proposals related to the product; Support marketing and sales activities relevant to product expertise.
  • Compliance Verification Guidelines (CVG’s)/ Additional Inspection Requirements (AIRs) - Development and maintenance of CVGs/AIRs for assigned Food CAPs in consultation with the direct Supervisor and in coordination with the respective IGOs; Responsible for the upkeep of CVGs/AIRs and other related technical documents on their respective PM folders in the Virtual Library and PM drive.
  • Memoranda and Notification and Emailers - Responsible for developing and drafting a memorandum and email notification and emailers for the assigned Food programmes (SFDA, Qatar, Iraq and other CAPs) in consultation with the direct Supervisor; Reviewing the African CAPs and if required revising the CVGs or Programme documents to include the contents of the memoranda and cancelling the memoranda; Updating the Memo, NTN and Emailer index.
  • Product Operational Procedures - Assist in developing POPs for specific products. Updating of old Memoranda and transferring the relevant information to the specific POP.
  • RP-NRP list - Records for Regulatory Products and Non-regulated products for the CAPs.
  • Test documents and Investigative Reports (IRs) - Review discrepancies and evaluate test reports on ASTRA or via emails for the assigned CAPs for verifying the correctness and quality of the reports; Filing these reports on the PM folder.
  • Programme documents - Revision of programme documents for SFDA, Qatar, Iraq and programmes for food group; Placing the updated Programme documents on the respective Programme folders on the PM for assigned CAPs; Drafting Technical Proposals, Guidelines, and specific requirements for various initiatives.
  • SQN (Standards Query Notification) or Clarification Letter (CLL) - Drafting of SQN or Clarification Letters on any national clausal requirements which are contradictory to international standards requirements or CAP Technical Regulations in consultation with the direct Supervisor.
  • FAQ’s - Compiling FAQ’s for assigned CAPs; Filing of the e-mails which have resulted in FAQ’s on the basis of keywords for easy retrieval if required; Placing the FAQ’s on the respective Programme folders on PMD folders and periodically updating these.
  • Technical Queries - Responding to technical queries from Offices, MOC, exporters, importers, laboratories for assigned CAPs in consultation with the direct supervisor; Technical Queries to be responded within 24 hours on receipt on working days and on the next working day if received on a holiday/weekend.
  • Programme Documents - Revision of programme documents for the assigned CAPs; Placing the updated programme documents on the respective PM folders.
  • Review and summarise the pertinent Contractual Obligations - Responsible for reviewing the assigned CAP Contract and complete the template for the Clausal requirements and penalties and regularly update the Excel sheet.
  • SFDA Final Technical Review Participation - Ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and contributing to decisions.
  • Technical Audits of ASTRA files - Perform random audits for the assigned CAP files in ASTRA and provide audit findings to the direct Supervisor/ Quality Team.
  • Marketing support - Preparation of Presentations, Flowcharts and Flyers in English language.
  • Meetings - To conduct meeting as scheduled with the IGO and document the MOM and send it to the recipients of the Meeting and relevant PM Staff.
  • Standards Database Inventory List (SIL) - Ensures that the latest Standards are included in the CVG/AIR. Updates the SIL for the assigned CAP and completes the columns relevant for the Technical Team to update.
  • Food Business in KSA - Assisting in the expansion of the Food Business within KSA; Meetings and engaging with officials from regulatory bodies like SFDA and SASO.
  • Importer and Government Offices (IGO) - To act as a point contact for the IGO for the assigned CAPs.
  • Back Up Support - Provide Back Up support for responding to technical queries as well as developing technical documents in absence of the concerned CAP Team member; Render services to any CAPs in need aside from African Programmes.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • B-Tech – Food Technology/BS Food Science/ Food Technology/ Microbiology/ Biology/ Chemistry

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 to 4 years’ experience in related work area
  •  Experience in Conformity Assessment related work (preferred)

Skills:

  • Implemented and maintained FSSC 22000 V6, QMS and HACCP systems, developed SOPs, led QA/QC operations, managed audits, and ensured compliance with food safety standards. 
  • Introduced supplier quality evaluation, drove CAPA implementation, and conducted staff training resulting in improved product quality, reduced complaints, and enhanced audit performance.
  • Knowledge of Product Standards and interpretation of the same
  • Good IT Skills in MS Windows Office package
  • Good communication skills
