Lab Technician (Thermal Products)

Position Summary

The Lab Technician – Thermal Products will be responsible for conducting laboratory testing, inspection, and evaluation of thermal products and materials in accordance with applicable standards, specifications, and laboratory procedures.

The role involves preparing test samples, operating laboratory equipment, recording and analyzing test results, maintaining testing equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and evaluation of thermal products, insulation materials, and related construction/building materials.
• Conduct thermal performance tests according to approved test methods, product specifications, and applicable international standards.
• Prepare, condition, label, and handle samples prior to testing.
• Operate laboratory instruments and testing equipment used for measuring thermal properties and product performance.
• Record test observations, measurements, calculations, and results accurately.
• Prepare test worksheets, technical records, and preliminary test reports.
• Ensure testing activities are performed according to established SOPs, quality procedures, and laboratory standards.
• Assist with testing related to properties such as thermal conductivity, thermal resistance (R-value), heat transfer, density, moisture content, dimensional properties, and other relevant parameters, depending on the product.
• Perform routine checks, verification, calibration coordination, and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Identify abnormal test results, equipment issues, or non-conformities and immediately report them to the Lab Supervisor/Technical Manager.
• Maintain proper traceability of samples from receipt through testing and disposal/storage.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and safe working conditions.
• Follow all HSE requirements, including correct handling of samples, chemicals, equipment, and PPE.
• Support internal and external audits and maintain laboratory documentation as required.
• Coordinate with Quality, Production, R&D, and Technical teams regarding testing requirements and results.
• Perform other laboratory-related duties assigned by the Lab Supervisor or Technical Manager.
