To support in leading the technical execution, delivery, and integrity of ASTA type certification activities for Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear assemblies and Transmission & Distribution equipment. The role ensures compliance with applicable international standards, accreditation requirements (ISO/IEC 17065, ISO/IEC 17025), and ASTA certification procedures, while driving technical excellence, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction
Essential Functions/ Job Responsibilities:
Lead and manage ASTA certification projects, including test planning, execution, and certification of LV/MV equipment
Interpret and apply relevant IEC and international standards for TDE product evaluation
Conduct technical reviews, safety evaluations, and certification decision support
Ensure compliance with ASTA procedures and accreditation requirements
Prepare detailed test plans aligned with applicable standards and certification schemes
Coordinate with external laboratories (local and international) for test execution
Witness testing activities in accordance with ASTA requirements and ensure accurate recording of results
Liaise with laboratories and service providers to resolve technical issues during testing
Engage with customers to understand technical requirements and provide guidance on compliance pathways
Support sales teams with technical inputs, feasibility assessments, and cost estimations
Participate in customer meetings and technical discussions to support project acquisition and delivery
Educate clients on standards, certification requirements, and product compliance expectations
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to certification engineers
Support competency development within the engineering team
Promote best practices in certification, testing, and documentation
Prepare and review ASTA test reports and certification documentation
Coordinate with ASTA UK (or relevant approving body) for final certification review and issuance
Ensure proper documentation control and traceability in line with ISO/IEC requirements
Conduct technical audits of laboratories and facilities in line with ISO/IEC 17025 and ASTA practices
Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and internal quality requirements
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the certification process
Education & Experience:
Education Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master s degree is an advantage)
Minimum 10+ years of experience in design, testing, and certification of LV/MV switchgear and T&D equipment
Proven experience in type testing and certification environments, including external laboratory coordination
Strong familiarity with ASTA certification schemes or equivalent international certification programs
