Quantity Surveyor – Road Construction Projects

Job Summary

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control, contract administration, and quantity estimation for road construction projects. The role ensures projects are delivered within budget while maintaining contractual compliance and financial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings for road works (earthworks, subgrade, sub-base, asphalt, drainage, utilities, kerbstones, interlocks, etc.).

Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and cost estimates.

Monitor project costs and prepare cost reports.

Verify subcontractor measurements and process interim payment certificates.

Prepare monthly valuations and client billing.

Track project variations and prepare variation claims.

Review contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms.

Conduct site visits for measurement verification.

Coordinate with engineers, site team, consultants, and subcontractors.

Assist in project budgeting and forecasting.

Maintain proper documentation for claims and final accounts.
